However, if there is an exception, and it is called Dexter! From the beginning, I found myself captivated by the character of Dexter – a dark, introverted individual.

Seasons 1 and 2 stood out, earning a commendable 9/10

The strength of the character development was evident, supported by impeccable casting and an engaging, crime-filled story. However, the quality of the show started to decline after that. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama weighed down what was once a classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt a gradual decrease in his charm, including Debra’s.

However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are a must and should not be missed

The writing and direction were solid, but Dexter himself stood as the towering centerpiece as his portrayal of black humor remained a standout aspect. His narration throughout the episodes was a unique perspective from which we learned how he perceives things, people and crimes; it was extremely fascinating. I recommend this series, but urge viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose the number of seasons to commit to.
